Socrates And Orunmila: Two Patron Saints of Classical Philosophy

Socrates and Ọ̀rúnmìlà: Two Patron Saints of Classical Philosophy by Professor Sophie Bọ́sẹ̀dé Olúwọlé is a groundbreaking work of comparative philosophy that challenges the Eurocentric bias in mainstream academia. Published in 2014 by Ark Publishers, the book systematically dismantles the colonial myth that ancient Africa lacked a rigorous, rational philosophical tradition. By placing the ancient Greek thinker Socrates side-by-side with the Yoruba sage Ọ̀rúnmìlà, Olúwọlé argues that Africa's indigenous wisdom systems are just as advanced, structurally sound, and universally applicable as Western thought.
